Does the ProFractional Laser treat rolling acne scars on the face?
Yes, the Profractional and Matrix lasers help treat rolling acne scars. A series of 3-5 lighter treatments would result in a noticeable difference. A deeper treatment could result in a noticeable improvement in 1-2 treatments.
Does this laser treat ice pick scaring?
It will improve ice pick scarring somewhat, but a better treatment for that is TCA Cross or punch excisions/elevations/grafting. Click Here for more information. We can combine treatments for optimal results.
I'm interested in addressing acne scarring (moderate to severe) with the deeper Matrix treatments. What would be the discount given for the deeper settings?
Dr Lin would need to evaluate your acne scarring. The depth of Matrix treatment that he recommends will depend on several factors that he needs to evaluate in person. He may also recommend TCA cross treatments, subscission, punch excision/elevation/grafting, or other treatment. Please Click Here for more information. We can give you an exact price if you come in for your evaluation.
Can the Matrix be used for the treatment of acne?
The Matrix is used to treat acne scars, not the acne skin condition itself. I recommend that you come in for an evaluation and treatment of your acne first. Once the acne is controlled, then we can use the Matrix laser to treat the acne scars.
Can you do the laser treatment if you are pregnant? Which one is better for large pores and some acne scars? How many treatments are recommended?
No, we do not recommend laser treatments on pregnant people. Both lasers are very similar and both are excellent for large pores and acne scars. I recommend 3-5 treatments. Can the Matrix laser be used on dark skin? I can tolerate the downtime to expedite results. If choosing the Matrix laser, how many treatments are usually required? Also, can these lasers be used on any area of the body?
Yes! The Matrix can be used on all skin types. Usually, we recommend 3-5 treatments at the lighter settings. Deeper settings can be used for even faster results, but there is more downtime. The lasers can be used on virtually any area of the body. Does this deal cover the whole face or just parts of the face?
This deal covers the whole face.
What is the difference between the Matrix laser and the Profractional laser treatments?
With the Profractional laser, there is little or no down time. It improves wrinkling, acne scars and tightens the skin's texture. With the Matrix, there is 7-10 days downtime. It helps with wrinkle reduction, overall tissue tightening and texture improvement.
Is the Matrix laser an ablative or non-ablative laser? Who performs the treatments? The doctor or RN / PA?
The Matrix is a fractional CO2 device. Therefore, it is an ablative laser. In general ablative lasers will give better results, but have more down-time. For the lighter laser treatments, the RN/NP/PA usually performs the treatment. For the deeper treatments, the NP/PA/MD usually performs the treatment. Of course, all treatments are done under the supervision of Dr. Lin, a board-certified dermatologist.
